1. How to clean the coloured, printed, knitted , silk and extra care needed garments?
The answer is HAND WASH.
2. Why wool garments shrink when washed with water but not in dry clean?
When you put a piece of wool under microscope, you will see the fabrics look like fish scales. If a piece of wool garment is washed by washing machine, the vigorous movement will entangle the fabrics and so reduce the size of the wool garments.
On the other hand, movement is more gentle under hand wash if the wool garment is washed by hand and hence the shrinkage will not be that serious.
There are different ways in dry cleaning. The most common one is by spraying chemicals onto the garment. The other one is by immersing the garments into the cleansing solution. The chemical effects will extract the dirt out of the garment.
During the dry cleaning process, there is no contact between the garment and water, and no vigorous movement is involved, so there will not be any shrinkage.
