The GORE-TEX membrane is the heart of all GORE-TEX products. It contains over 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square cm (9 billion per inch). These pores are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule, which makes the GORE-TEX membrane completely waterproof from the outside, while allowing perspira-tion to escape from the inside. In order to meet the specific needs of each end use, W. L. Gore & Associates has developed different GORE-TEX® membranes and applies them as appropriate.

The AIGLE THERMO-KIT® system enables our warm mid layer garments to be zip-ped in and out of the inner zippers of our protective shell garments at will, to create single integral cold-weather jackets. Thermo-Kit® permits your garments to evolve in response to the seasons.

Down is a natural source of warmth and offers unbeatable protection against the cold temperatures of winter or at high altitudes. Be it in terms of the warmth-weight ratio, its compactness or its capacity to hug the body’s curves, no other insulation material can match it. The warmth indicator of the product is evaluated by the proportion of down and feathers. The higher this proportion, the warmer and better quality the material will be.
