COPELAND: AIGLE redesigns its legendary jacket

An iconic '90s piece makes its return to the AIGLE wardrobe. Twenty-four years after its first release, originally launched in 1996, the COPELAND, a three quarter sailing jacket, with it’s signature 1853 branding, has had a serious refresh. With its iconic blue and red colour, the COPELAND 2.0 Collection come with unfailing waterproof design and patch detail on the sleeve, this jacket is anchored in our collective subconscious. This COPELAND 2.0 Collection made the mark when it first launched, and because icons never die, it's making a big comeback in 2020.

Between the past and the future

Cuts and fabrics change with time. For COPELAND 2.0 Collection, the brand's designers searched the archives, drawing and redrawing new jacket shapes until the new range was created. Available in several different models, MODDEI as sailing jacket, DESILEI as a reversible jacket, IMMENSIS as a popover hooded; the COPELAND designs are now equipped with the brand's waterproof, breathable and windproof MTD membrane.

Unisex and with an oversized style, the design appeals even to those who don't know about the jacket's retro heritage. For those who grew up with it and its embroidered 1853 patches, takes inspiration from the international maritime code, an ever-present nod to maritime style, it represents a little bit of nostalgia. The timeless COPELAND is all about '90s vibes combined with technical design.
