Rubber boots are a must-have item during rain seasons, but do you know how to take care of them? Proper care is essential to increase the lifespan of Rubber Boots. Simply follow the 4 steps below, you will have your AIGLE boots cleaned in no time and looking brand new!

① Wash with clean water.

Wash your rain-soaked boots with water to clean off the dirt and dry it with a sponge after each use. This will help to maintain your natural rubber boots for longer. If the boots are still dirty on the surface where dirt and mud are trapped which is hard to remove, wipe it with a wet sponge but do not wash the lining inside the boots.

*It is not recommended to use a tower to wipe the boots, as the fibers will remain on the rubber boots' surface which will make it more difficult to clean.

*Never use solvents on your boots as it might coorode the natural rubber.

② Maintain with AIGLE Sponge.

After cleaning your boots, rub your AIGLE boots with the AIGLE Instant Shine Sponge to the surface. This will help to protect the material, revive the rubber’s qualities and bring back its original shine. It can also keep them looking good for longer and is good for removing white marks too. No polishing is required.

③ Store the boots upright.

After maintaining your boots with the sponge, store the boots in the shoe box or closet. Keep your boots upright and straight. Never bend the boots.

The original shoe box can resist a small amount of moisture that can protect your boots from the damage caused by humidity. You may also put a bit of crumpled-up newspaper into the boots to help absorbing the moisture and retain the shape.

④ Avoid from direct sunlight

As rubber is light-sensitive (UV), never leave the boots to dry close to a source of heat and avoid direct exposure to the sun.

Store the boots in a dry place with fresh air and away from direct sunlight. Always avoid putting them too close to heat or in the sun to avoid damage. Excess heat or sunlight will alter the quality of the rubber and its color.

Tips & Tricks:

1. Why do my rubber boots smell so bad? How can we get the smell out of it?

To avoid smelling feet, a pair of moisture-wicking socks in breathable material can help prevent sweat from collecting in your boots. It's also recommended to choose the boot size with a looser calf for moisture ventilation.

2. Why is there white marks on the rubber boots? How to remove?
