Sustainability: New Year New “Natura: ” Experience by Origami Florist

“Be Functional, Be Fashionable, and Be Sustainable”  are the New Year Resolution of AIGLE In Hong Kong for 2022!

This January, to highlight the launch of our contemporary, authentic, and unique AIGLE Upcycled Jackets, we invite a local creative florist team - Origami Florist in Hong Kong to join hands in creating these window decorations exclusively for AIGLE Fashion Walk Pop Up Store with sustainability in mind.

The creative idea of the installation is to bring the New Year New Natura: Experience in the celebrative season to the urban area with dried reed grass, weeds and flowers. Flowers were made with upcycled materials, i.e. plastic lids of take-away drinking cups collected by Look For Green (回收轆轆), a local mobile Recycling Programme and rearranged by Origami Florist.

We wish to create options to arrange celebrative flowers in New Year by considering the use of upcycled materials creatively. Through collaboration with a local entity, we wish to encourage creativity to infuse the concept of sustainability into art, and also into our daily lifestyle.

Origami Florist, a local professional florist team shared the green heart together with AIGLE, who constantly explore different eco-friendly materials in their flora installation design. One of their latest art pieces are created for their experiential café Natura: (the Latin origin of nature) in Wan Chai which aims to create a serene dining space for metropolitan to reconnect their senses with nature. They recreate the concept of ‘Whale Fall’ by combining different upcycled materials and flower ingredients to present ocean creatures and scenery. This act is also trying to arouse public awareness in protecting ocean species.
